They’re a creamy, smooth candy filled with lots of pecan. Though the original French praline was made of almonds covered with a sugar syrup - more like a brittle - they were transformed by French settlers in the South into a pecan + cream heavy mixture of deliciousness. All the fat in the recipe helps keep the sugar from recrystallizing after it cools, making for a really smooth texture.

a Microplane!

A brand name that has become synonymous with the item itself, they are the most superior zesting/grating/shredding products out there. Whatever you do, don’t buy a knockoff.

A hoop or low-back windsor chair.

These go way back (to the 1700’s) but were especially in style in the 19th century. Come w/ or w/o arms, identified by the spokes that support the back.

A rotary tool, aka a Dremel!

Dremel is a popular maker of rotary tools, a hand held thing that you insert a bit into and can pretty much do anything, at least according to wikipedia: “drilling, grinding, sharpening, cutting, cleaning, polishing, sanding, routing, carving and engraving.”

a blade sign (one that is perpendicular to the wall on which it...

a blade sign (one that is perpendicular to the wall on which it hangs)
